Larry is a Former Denver Police Department Gang Unit, SWAT/K9 Officer and Law Enforcement Officer Survival Skills Trainer, and specializes in Close Quarter Combat, Weapon Retention, Tactical Firearms and Hand-to-Hand Combat instruction; affectionately coined S.W.A.T. - Street Wise Altercation Tactics.

Coach Larry is a Clarence Thatch Black Belt and a Jeet Kune Do Full Instructor under Sifu Paul Vunak.

In the field of Martial Arts Larry is Considered amongst his peers as "a teacher's-teacher" or simply put SiGung, a Chinese term meaning, "a master's master." A multiple-time State, National and International Karate Champion in bare-knuckle full-contact, no pads-no gloves competition. Larry is a full-contact (bare-knuckle) kick-boxing, international kick-boxing, professional boxing and mixed martial arts Champion and Coach.

Larry has known Sifu Paul Vunak for over 30 years since his days on the Elite Swat/K-9 Team in Denver. Larry is literally LIVING proof that Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai, mixed with Kina Mutai is a force that is unbeatable in self-Defense combat! These three arts came into play as Larry fought for his life against a knife wielding attacker/robber, it was the bite, the eye gouge and rear naked choke that helped save Larry’s life, most importantly it was God!
